Pregnancy, Postpartum & Loss Support: Every Story Deserves Care
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, with October 15 recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. This month may offer comfort through acknowledgment and community, but it can also bring up difficult emotions. There is no right way to grieve, remember, heal, or participate. You are allowed to honor your experience privately, speak about it openly, or opt out entirely.
At Inspired Counseling Center, we provide compassionate virtual therapy for mothers and couples in Florida, California, Georgia, and North Carolina. Whether you are pregnant, postpartum, grieving a loss, or supporting a partner through a hard season, you deserve care that meets you where you are.
Pregnancy and Postpartum Are Not One-Size-Fits-All
Pregnancy and postpartum are often shown as only joyful experiences, but every story is different. You may feel hopeful, anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or uncertain—sometimes all at once.
You may be navigating:
Pregnancy anxiety, especially after a previous loss
Miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss
Postpartum depression, anxiety, or intrusive thoughts
A complicated pregnancy or traumatic birth experience
Fertility challenges or changes to family-building plans
Relationship stress, loneliness, or difficulty feeling understood
Grief after pregnancy or infant loss does not follow a timeline. It may resurface during anniversaries, future pregnancies, or milestones, and it can coexist with love, hope, anger, and sadness.
Support Can Look Like Choice
During Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, support should never require anyone to share more than they want to. If you are supporting someone who has experienced loss, a simple message can matter:
“I’m thinking of you.”
“You do not have to respond, but I’m here.”
“I remember.”
“What would feel supportive right now?”
You do not need to find perfect words. Offering presence, patience, and compassion can be meaningful.
Virtual Therapy for Mothers and Couples
Online therapy can provide a private, supportive space to process pregnancy, postpartum, and loss-related emotions at your own pace. Virtual counseling may be especially helpful when you are balancing parenting responsibilities, managing a busy schedule, or would feel more comfortable receiving support from home.
Therapy can help you process grief, manage pregnancy or postpartum anxiety, work through guilt and overwhelm, strengthen communication with a partner, and make space for both healing and hope. Couples therapy can also help partners who may be grieving differently reconnect and support one another.
